Feb 14th Bee meeting update

Here are the notes that I took at the last bee meeting that Bobbie was meaning to post on our Facebook page.  I am sending this via email as well as post on the blog in case anyone still checks it ;-)

Our quilt for the raffle is done!  Thanks to Jas for the quilting, she did a great job as usual.  Amy will make a label and sew it on so that we can turn in the quilt at the guild meeting this Wednesday.

Update: It needs a sleeve, so I’m sewing it on and will drop it off to Celeste on Saturday.

Amy will cut 2 ½” strips with the left over batik fabric that we purchased for the quilt. We’ll all get a mini jelly roll at retreat.

We need to send retreat info to Pam and Gloria, they were not aware we had a Spring retreat.  Karen Branham paid the deposit at Margie’s last year.  Retreat dates are April 16th (after 5PM) thru’ 19th.

Update: Karen (Shelly) posted the retreat info on Facebook. I will copy and paste it to the email I send.

Round robin: the center medallion / block to be 18 ½” unfinished.  First exchange will be in May.  I’m sure Margie will be happy to talk to us about round robin ideas while on retreat. Amy will provide journals for everyone to include with their round robin project.  Jas will send instructions for future rounds.

I think most of us decided on doing the Christmas homemade gift exchange again?  It’s optional to participate, but please decide by Sept 1st so we know how many to make.

Birthday celebration was briefly discussed for May or June? Talked about road trip and lunch out.

Next Bee meeting and retreat update

Did we all survive quilt festival?  I spent less this year than any other year so I'm happy with myself.  Now to find time to get these projects done; especially the few I have set aside for Christmas gifts.

Before I get into the retreat...I need to know who is planning on attending our bee meeting on November 23rd.  If we don't have more than 3 people I will call Connie and cancel the November meeting.  Please reply on the blog or email to me if you will be at Quilt Works on 11/23.

Now...our retreat at Premier Estates in Wallis is quickly approaching.  Dec 6th - 8th.  We can arrive after 1:00 PM on Friday.  If you need directions, please click on the link above to get the address.

Those of us that are participating in the gift exchange should have received your gift recipient's name by now. The limit is $25 and we will NOT be doing it secret sister style, so bring your wrapped gift ready to exchange.

I've heard from most everyone as to your meal preference.  Since there are 12 of us attending and 5 meals, I have 3 people assigned to the evening meals since those are bigger meals and more costly.  As usual, Friday lunch you are on your own since we are all arriving at different times.  We all usually bring treats and snacks to share -  there is NEVER a lack of food at our retreats!

I think that's all for now.  Hope to see you on the 23rd at Quilt Works - let me know!

Christmas party / retreat dates

I heard from Sharon at Premier Estates and she confirmed the dates of our Christmas retreat. Dec 6-8th which is Friday, Saturday and Sunday.  Jasmine took the deposits and will be letting each of us know the remaining balance that will be due to her by Oct. 31st.

We decided to draw names this year instead of the usual handmade gift exchange.  I for one, am glad to have a "year off", but I must admit it will be a bit of a let down this year after the last 2 years of wonderful, creative gifts. So will we be ready to resume the handmade gifts next year?

Our next bee meeting (at Quilt works) is the 4th Saturday which is THIS Saturday.  Several of us will be at the guild retreat.  Let's all get our wish lists ready and when we meet in October (October 26th) we will draw names and that will give us a chance to shop for our gift exchange at quilt festival.  If you can't make the Oct 26th meeting, then please email me your list and I will take it with me to the meeting and we will include you in the exchange.  This is obviously not mandatory so you can opt out if you'd like.

So...get those lists ready and bring it to the bee meeting on Oct 26th or email it to me prior to that bee meeting.  Please be on the lookout for an email from Jasmine too!

Until I see you all again...HAPPY QUILTING!

4th Saturday already!

This Saturday is the 4th Saturday of the month which means it's our bee meeting!

I'm still getting used to this new meeting place and routine.  I will be at bee for a few hours at least. It's the last weekend before school starts and it seems that there are 101 things still to do.

We need to draw for the Christmas exchange as soon as possible so start your lists! Write down a few wants and needs so whomever draws your name will have some ideas for you.

Hope to see you Saturday!

Bee meeting - tomorrow - July 27th!

Just a reminder that we are meeting tomorrow July 27th @ Quiltworks!  I think they open the doors around 9:30.  I will be there but can't stay long as we are packing for the move.  Hope to see most of you there!

Let's do potluck Saturday

Well it looks like 5 or 6 of us will be there. Let's all bring something to share for lunch so we get more uninterrupted sewing time in.

See you all by 9:30!

See you this Saturday!

I'll try and be there no later than 9:30!  Please let me know if you are planning to come to the meeting this Saturday so we know how to set up the tables before we all get started.  Anyone interested in a potluck lunch?

Let's all chime in!
