March retreat Information

It's almost time for our Spring retreat. This time we have 4 fun filled days of sewing!

Location: RR Retreats - 109 miles from Houston
Address: 2645 Kallus Road La Grange, TX 78945.

Dates: March 24-March 27. Saturday-Tuesday

Cost: Approx $200 each for the 4 nights:
Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday - $40 per night *
Thursday and Sunday - $55 per night
Friday and Saturday - $65 per night

Prepared meals are available:
Continental Breakfast $6
Country Breakfast with Biscuits and Gravy $8
Lunch: Home made soup or Sandwiches with salad and lite dessert. $8
Dinner: An entrèe with one or two veggies, a salad, and a dessert. $12
NOTE: NO MORE THAN TWO MEALS A DAY WILL BE PREPARED.

Coffee and Tea are complimentary. Hot coffee will be delivered to the upstairs coffee bar every morning. If you are a water drinker, you will want to bring your own bottled water as the tap water doesn't taste very well.

We will have a small group project (supply list will follow in the next few weeks). We'll play a game or two with prizes for the winners.

Need your input on the following:
1) Do you want to split up all the meals as we usually do? Or we could do a combination of us preparing two meals a day and having the retreat hostess prepare the dinner meal? We could always go out to eat one night as well.

2) Do we want to do a Secret Sister game? (if you participate you would need to provide 3-4 small gifts for your secret sister)

Please post your comments and questions here so we can all follow along.

Our next bee meeting is February 11th. Hope to see you all there and we can talk about the retreat!

  1. 1) Meals - I am ok with us spliting up the meals between us. If we want to let them fix a few dinners or go out to eat, I am fine with this also.

    2) Secret Sister game- I am voting not to do this, but if everyone decides to do it I will join the group.

  2. 1) Meals - I would vote to continue splitting up the meals for the most part. If we want to go out to eat or let them cook some dinners. I am fine with this also.

    2) Secret Sisters - I am voting not to do this - but if the group decides to do it, i will particapate.

  3. 1) I vote for us preparing the meals as we usually do but I'd like to go out one night for a meal.

    2) I'm on the fence about the secret sister swap. If the majority decides to do it, then I will also participate.

  4. 1) Meals: I vote for signing up for meals and one out to eat dinner - maybe on the same day(if we decide to do this)we are out visiting the quilt museum or quilt shop

    2) Secret Sister: I vote no for this.

Does anyone know what check-in/check-out times are?

  5. I will not make it to our next bee meeting because of work.can someone let me know how much I owe for retreat.I would like to share in meal making also think one night of eating out is a good Idea. The sister thing might be fun if we put a limit on the amout to be spent...10.00 won't be bad,but we are already spending money on the retreat,gas,meals,museaum...ectmaybe some of us can car pool.I can drive or ride either way
    see you soon

  6. 1. I'm fine either way. I agree to having a meal out and maybe one a day in. I'm fine if we split as usual.

    2. I'd probably rather not take time to get secret sister gifts, but would be willing to do it if others want to.

  9. Jas - I think the retreat charges based on the number of people that attend, and I think the minimum is 10 people. (Sam - correct me if I'm wrong).

Not sure about check in and check out times, we'll need to call Margie about that.

Also I forgot to mention that bed linens are provided but you do need to bring your own pillow.

I will go with the majority as to the meals, although one evening out does sound good.

The secret sister activity does sound good. We haven't done that for a long time.

Sounds to me like we need hands on instruction as to how to use the blog in order to make it work. Remember some of us aren't computer savy.

    Have a good day.

  11. Sounds like sharing meals is the way to go. I'm for it. Also, sounds like "SECRET SISTER" is a no. I'm agreeable.

Just to let you know I didnt' get notices on any of the above blog additions. We'll see what happends after today.
