One down and 3 to go...

I enjoyed the road trip yesterday, I hope everyone else did as well. Those of you that took pictures, please send them to me when you get a minute and I'll post on the blog and the Guild website.

I made my first Granny Square block today.  It was really easy, the longest part was cutting the squares.  I highly recommend pressing the seams open as she suggests in the tutorial http://blueelephantstitches.blogspot.com/2012/01/granny-square-quilt-block-tutorial.html
I can see how it would be really bulky if not pressed open.  I'm happy with the way it turned out.

Now only 3 more to go!  When you make your blocks, if you want to send me a picture, I'll post it here. I cut more squares than I needed too. I was watching TV and just kept cutting up my scraps.  I'll bring the squares to the bee meeting next Saturday (June 16th).  If anyone wants to use them, you are more than welcome.  In fact it might be fun to mix up our squares.  We could sort them by color and come up with a variety of blocks.  Just a thought.  I'll be there at 9:30 as usual.  Hope to see you there!

7:00 PM Update:
I just kept on sewing and now I have all 4 blocks sewn!  I also have a dirty house and piles of laundry.  Oh well, it's not going anywhere.  I'm still waiting for the laundry fairy to show up...where the heck is she?  If you see her, please send her my way.
