Bee meeting - this Saturday - Nov. 10th

I hope we all survived the Quilt festival. I know I helped the Houston economy with my purchases...sigh. Oh well, you only live once right?

We will be meeting this Saturday at the usual place and time. I will not be there because its Parent weekend at Texas State and Evan is really looking forward to us coming to the football game and his fraternity events. I will get the key to the room and make arrangements to get the key to Sam or Elaine. I hope y'all have fun and I'm sorry that I'm going to miss seeing everyone's quilt festival finds.

I think we just need to add the outer border to our quilt show quilt and then hopefully it goes on to Jas for quilting. (Jas - are you out there?)

Please discuss the meal signups for retreat and I'll send out a recap next week of who is doing what meal. Also, if you have not paid Karen R. for retreat, please plan on taking care of that right away so that Karen isn't out the money any longer than necessary. Enjoy the day and I'll see you at retreat.

  1. I will not be there again this month! I miss you guys! I did get to go to preview night at the Quilt Festival! I got a few finds. I enjoyed my classses and what I got to see of the festival. I like having one more day to go back and get items if needed. But, I left on last Friday for Singapore again. I will be here until Nov 16th.

At this point, I am still planning on being at the quilt retreat, but work is talking about me being in Singapore again in December. So, still unclear. I will keep you posted.

  2. I survived quilt Festival! In fact, both of the Karens did also. LOL I have a BOM on Thursday morning as well as QOV in the evening. Friday morning I am leaving for NB. My son, DIL and two grands will be coming Saturday morning and we're going to Wurstfest! They'll leave Monday morning and I'll spend another couple of days (maybe sewing, maybe sleeping) to winterize the house and check on some other items I need to see about.

Hope that everyone has a great time. I am looking forward to Retreat at Wallis.

  5. I am not going to be able to make bee this sat. afterall. But I will be at retreat! If people sign up for meals, I would prefer to do either fri. lunch or dinner, but will take whatever slot needs someone. We still need to make the back for the quilt too (this could be done at the retreat though) Let me know how much of the Kona fabric is left after doing the borders and if it's decided to use any leftover squares on the back, then I can pick up some fabric if needed before the retreat.

  6. OK, I feel like I have gotten a piece of info here and there about this retreat, I am trying to plan how much time I need to take off; I know it is Fri 30th til Sun 2nd but what time can we arrive/need to depart etc and how many people are actually going etc. I was there on Saturday but y'all had already spoken about it I guess, thanks in advance for the information.
