Happy New Year!

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year celebration!  Sorry it's taken me so long to update this blog...it's been sorta' crazy around here and I bet your December was just as hectic.

Just a few things I wanted to let you know:

I received an email from the Head Beekeeper for the Guild asking for a list of bee members.  We all need to be members in good standing with the guild so if you have not paid your 2013 dues, please plan on doing so as soon as possible.  If you join by the Jan. 16th meeting (or bring your payment to that meeting) the fees are $25.  After that date it goes up to $30.  You can find the 2013 membership form here.

She also asked that the bees sign up to host a speaker, which means taking them to dinner and helping with their trunk show or presentation.  I asked to host the March meeting (Speaker is Pat Sloan - I'm SO excited - I LOVE her! Good job Sam on booking her!) So please plan on attending dinner at Los Cucos with Pat on March 20th.  It's also possible that we may host Ami Simms in July as well.  She is the quilter who started the Alzheimer Quilt Initiative and she is a real hoot!

The guild requested the bee's help making the paper pieced ribbon stars for the quilt show.  I will pick up some packets at the guild meeting on the 16th and we can work on them at our February meeting (Feb. 9th).

Our next meeting is January 12th and hopefully we will start binding our quilt if Jasmine has had time to quilt it.  We need to reimburse Jasmine for any additional fabric she needed to buy for the backing and the batting for the quilt, so please bring a few dollars to the January meeting.  I doubt it will be more than $6 or $7 per person.

Well, I think that about wraps it up.  I hope to see you all on January 12th and hear what Santa brought you - you were on the "nice list" this year; right?

  1. I plan on attending the Jan 12 meeting, but only until about 12 Noon as I have a birthday party to go to.

I agree with your hosting selections and will try to attend the dinners. I should be at the meetings.
